Ambassador Jean Manes joined in the celebration of a uniquely Salvadoran festivity held every year on the Sunday of November: National Pupusa Day.
On November 13, Ambassador Manes visited the town of Olocuilta to participate in the festival celebrating El Salvador’s national dish. Three thousand people flocked to Olocuilta for the event. The town of Olocuilta became famous last year after obtaining the Guinness world record for cooking the largest pupusa in the world — a 4.5 m diameter rice pupusa filled with cheese, corn and meat. In her Ambassador Manes thanked the hosts for inviting her to share in Salvadoran culture, as well as the gigantic and “delicious” pupusa.
