Ambassador William H. Duncan Arrives in El Salvador
U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of El Salvador, William H. Duncan arrived at the International Airport San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez on Thursday, January 26. Prior to his arrival, he was sworn-in as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of El Salvador on January 24 in Washington D.C.
Ambassador Duncan is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service of the United States with the rank of Minister Counselor. He has served as Consul General in Monterrey, Mexico, Deputy Chief of Mission in Mexico City, Mexico; and Deputy Chief of Mission in Asuncion, Paraguay. His other assignments abroad include Madrid, Baghdad, Bogota, San Salvador, and Matamoros. His assignments in Washington D.C. include Director of the Office of Andean Affairs and other positions in the Offices of Mexican Affairs, West African Affairs, and Central American Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.
Ambassador Duncan and his wife Nora have three daughters and two grand children.
