The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is seeking candidates for unpaid temporary interns to assist the following sections:

U.S EMBASSY INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

 

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering a temporary unpaid internship to assist the Human Resources Office for six months. This internship is uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.

Responsibilities:

•       Draft Diplomatic notes, salary certifications, documents for employee’s files

•       Deliver good customer service for our clients

•       Perform administrative functions

Desired Profile:

•       Active university student in at least their 2st year of career in Industrial Engineering, Psychology, International Relations, Business Administration or Law

•       Proficient in Word and Excel

•       Intermediate English Level

•       Minimum availability of 20 hours per week

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering two unpaid internships to assist the Foreign Commercial Services Office up to six months. These internships are uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.

Responsibilities:

·         Draft, gather statistical information, and update market research reports

·         Update database, prepare marketing material, and promote trade shows

·         Assist in clerical functions, identify bid announcements and handle social media

·         Enter trade leads, export successes and commercial diplomacy cases in database

Desired Profile

·         Minimum availability of 20 hours per week

·         English at an intermediate level

·         Active university student in at least their 2nd year of career

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering a temporary unpaid internship to assist the Cultural Section in the Public Affairs Office up to six months. This internship is uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of different cultural events
  • Take photos and videos to support the production of web videos and content
  • Support in formulating social media strategies and graphic content applied to cultural programs
  • Assist in the creation and formulation of cultural programs
  • Maintain and update the contacts database
  • Assist with outreach activities  for alumni community and local universities

Desired Profile:

  • Active university student in at least their 3rd year of career in the following fields: Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations
  • Intermediate English Level
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours per week for a maximum of six months

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering 2 unpaid internships to assist the Press Section in the Public Affairs Office up to six months. These internships are uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.

Responsibilities:

      • Support press and social media activities of the mission
      • Drafts material for press releases and stories to be used in social media platforms
      • Assist with the development of a social media strategy
      • Assist in production of web videos, graphic and social media content
      • Assist with audience analysis and content creation for the Post’s Social Media strategy

Desired Profile:

      • Active university student in at least their 3rd year in the following fields: Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design or Public Relations
      • Intermediate English Level and good writing skills in both English and Spanish
      • Minimum availability of 20 hours per week

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering an opportunity to participate in 2 unpaid internships to assist the Department of Homeland Security – ICE for six months. These internships are uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Carryout non-sensitive duties related to intergovernmental projects between the U.S. and El Salvador.
  • Assist in projects that work toward efforts related to International Law Enforcement Cooperation.
  • Perform clerical functions, accounting and budgeting duties, and other tasks assigned related to office management.

Desired Profile:

  • Minimum availability of 20 hours per week
  • Fluency in English
  • Active university student in at least their 1st year of career

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering an opportunity to participate in an unpaid internship to assist the Protocol Section for six months. This internship is uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with activities such as process correspondence, track RSVP’s, escort guests, answer phone calls from high level contacts, clerical functions, special projects to improve functioning of protocol office and other day to day tasks.
  • Accompany Protocol Office staff to Ambassador or Deputy Chief of Mission public events from time to time.

Desired Profile:

  • Minimum availability of 30 hours per week
  • English at an intermediate level or higher
  • Good customer service, proactive, highly organized
  • Microsoft office and google docs computer skills
  • Active university student in at least their 2nd year of career: Communications, Marketing, International Relations, or Law
