The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is seeking candidates for unpaid temporary interns to assist the following sections:

The U.S. Embassy in San Salvador is offering a temporary virtual unpaid internship to assist the Press Section in the Public Affairs Office for six months. This internship is uncompensated and not entitled to benefits.


  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of different press events
  • Support in drafting communications material that may include releases and web stories
  • Assist in the coverage of public events
  • Maintain and update the contacts database

Desired Profile:

  • Active university student in at least their 3rd year of career in the following fields: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or International Relations
  • Intermediate English Level
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours per week for a maximum of six months

Any interested student must comply with the following to be taken into consideration:

  • Must be 18 years or older, an active university student and legal resident of El Salvador
  • Good academic standing
  • Able to receive and hold a security and medical certification from post
