Amy Archibald is a career Foreign Service Officer currently posted to the U.S. Embassy in San Salvador, El Salvador, as the Political Counselor. She was recently the Deputy Director in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor’s Office of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, managing human rights and democratic transition policy for 31 countries. Other diplomatic assignments include tours in Ecuador, Laos, Italy, the Dominican Republic, and in Washington in the Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs.
Before joining the U.S. Foreign Service in 1999, Ms. Archibald was a management consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and History from Claremont McKenna College and a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
