Visa applicants usually have 365 days from the date of payment to schedule an appointment before the visa expires. Some extensions were granted during the COVID-19 pandemic, but these extensions expire this coming September 30, 2023. If you paid your fee before October 1, 2022, you must schedule an interview (or submit your interview waiver request, if eligible) by September 30, 2022. If you fail to do so, you may have to pay the fee again.
NOTE: The actual interview does not need to take place before September 30, 2023, but an appointment must be scheduled in the system before then, even if it is months away.
