Some 700 people celebrated the friendship between the United States and El Salvador in the second concert framed under the Festival #AmistadEnAcción in the Victoria Cinema of Ahuachapán.
The afternoon of music opened with a selection of numbers by the Conchagua Philharmonic Orchestra from La Union, one of the groups formed with children and young people through the Violence Prevention Program sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development, USAID.
Afterwards, for more than an hour, the Symphony of the Americas from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the Don Bosco Youth Symphony Orchestra offered a repertoire that included songs by American authors for the Salvadoran public, who joined the celebration of friendship and diplomatic ties between the U.S. and El Salvador.
U.S. Ambassador Jean Manes and her family, along with the Mayor of Ahuachapán, Abilio Flores, and the vice-governor of Ahuachapán, Yessica Valdez, participated in the concert.
The U.S. Embassy supports Ahuachapán and the National Civilian Police (PNC) through the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (GREAT).
