Sonsonate was the final destination on the seven-city tour of the “Amistad en Acción” Festival, hosted by the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador, U.S. Symphony Of Americas, the Choir and Youth Symphony Orchestra of Polígono Don Bosco and the Acajutla Philharmonic Orchestra.
Around 900 people enjoyed the concert in Sonsonate which contributed to the total 6,500 people who heard the concert in the Plan El Salvador Seguro cities of Santa Ana, Ahuachapán, Soyapango, Cojutepeque and Ciudad Delgado and San Salvador from June 23rd to June 29th.
U.S. Ambassador, Jean Elizabeth Manes declared, “Let´s keep working side by side to support Salvadoran youth, they deserve all of our efforts.” The U.S. Ambassador attended the concerts all seven days and gave messages of hope for a brighter future for El Salvador’s youth through.
Under the slogan: “Two countries. Multiple orchestras. Ten days of music. One goal: Celebrate what unites us!”, the “Friendship in Action” Festival comes to its end. We thank the thanks the thousands of Salvadorans who joined us at the various concerts, and the countless others who participated via Facebook and Twitter. The U.S. Embassy looks forward to celebrating our ties of friendship every June 15th.
