  • The Government of El Salvador reports 10,957 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 298 deaths and 6,262 recovered patients.

Humanitarian Flights:

United Airlines and Avianca notified the U.S. Embassy that they will offer humanitarian flights for U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents.


Avianca will offer flights on the following dates:

  • Monday, July 20 – New York City, NY (JFK)
  • Tuesday, July 21 – Washington, DC (IAD)
  • Wednesday, July 22 – San Francisco, CA (SFO)
  • Thursday, July 23 – Los Angeles, CA (LAX)

  • Houston, TX (IAH)
    • Daily flight offered through August 2.  
  • Los Angeles, CA (LAX)
    • Flights offered twice weekly. 
  • Washington, DC (IAD)
    • Flights offered twice weekly. 
  • Newark, NJ (EWR)
    • Flights offered twice weekly. 

Traveling to the airport:

  • Anyone with flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to board a flight. Travelers exhibiting flu-like symptoms should not come to the airport. These individuals should self-quarantine and seek medical attention if their symptoms worsen.
  • Normal services at the airport are closed.  Please take snacks, food, and water that you may need for your trip.
  • We suggest travelers carry additional cash for their trip to cover any unexpected expenses.

The U.S. Embassy will continue to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens.
