Message from the U.S. Embassy Spokesperson:
March 27, 2020; 2:00pm
We are in Day-6 of the 30-day national quarantine in El Salvador. There are 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
The U.S. Embassy in El Salvador is continuing to work 24/7 to provide assistance to U.S. citizens in El Salvador. We are tireless in this endeavor, and we take nothing more seriously.
Today, we had another 377 U.S. Citizens and lawful permanent residents depart El Salvador on USG organized flights to the United States. If you are interested in returning to the USA in a government evacuation flight, please click HERE . Unlike Humanitarian flights (operated by private companies) the US government sets the price for Evacuation flights and they should be more comparable to pre-COVID-19 airline prices. However, these flights require more flexibility on the part of the traveller. Please see our FAQ for more information on the differences between Humanitarian flights and Evacuation flights, as well as some other useful information. https://sv.usembassy.gov/19-repatriation-flights-qa/
