The Police Athletic League of El Salvador (LAP) held the National Dance and Choreography Championship 2023. The U.S. government, through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), has invested more than $2 million in this program, which has benefited more than 50,000 children and youth in El Salvador.
The program, implemented together with El Salvador’s National Civil Police (PNC), aims to keep at-risk youth away from potential gangs and migrants by providing fun and safe after-school activities.
The children and youth who are part of the 21 participating delegations, prepared for several months to put their artistic talent to the test.
Ambassador William Duncan, in his first visit to the National Theater of San Salvador, accompanied all the participants of the Championship and presented the prize to the winners of the contest, belonging to the Soyapango Delegation.
