SAN SALVADOR-On July 20, youth from the Oportunidades Program gathered to share experiences and moments of fellowship. The celebration is held every year and this time brought together 811 students from different centers of the program located in San Salvador, Sonsonate, Santa Ana and San Miguel.
The gathering was attended by the U.S. Ambassador in El Salvador, William H. Duncan; the President of the Gloria Kriete Foundation (FGK), Roberto Kriete; the FGK Executive Director, Juana Jule; principals, educators, and students.
Oportunidades is a permanent program by FGK supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that provides scholarships for young people with academic excellence and the opportunity to complement their high school studies with soft skills, English, technology and other competencies to better prepare for the future.
