U.S. Ambassador William Duncan, together with Dr. Pedro Arieta Vega, rector of UNIVO; the director of CIDEMO, Rodolfo Mejía Dietrich and the executive director of FUSADES, Javier Castro. They presided over the graduation of 100 young people from its flagship program “Oriente Lidera” in its second edition.
Thanks to the Government of the United States, through USAID El Salvador and in collaboration with the Universidad de Oriente (UNIVO), “Oriente Lidera” was created. This program has trained and connected hundreds of young leaders in El Salvador to promote their participation in democratic processes.
This diploma course aims to strengthen democratic leadership in the eastern region and positively influence El Salvador, an objective that is being successfully achieved as participants become true agents of change being part of different civil organizations with environmental initiatives, gender equality, inclusion, among others.
