It is a great pleasure to have you all here tonight, if not for the first time, then certainly for the first time in a long time.

Agriculture was once a force for development and prosperity in El Salvador, and there is no reason why it couldn’t be again. But the future of agriculture is not in the past. The world has changed, there are new trends, new knowledge, and new approaches to agribusiness. Improving crop yields, the use of fertilizers, seed diversification, quality control, marketing, all these are elements of a modern agro-industry.

There is immense opportunity here and I encourage you to use your acquired knowledge to help forge a new path for Salvadoran agribusiness.

Thank you so much.
