The U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador, William H Duncan, participated in the Teachers Up 2023 Conference. This project is funded by the Embassy and led by alumni of the various exchange programs supported by the U.S. Department of State. It began in 2021 as a pilot program during the pandemic and is now completing its second year of implementation, offering free professional development to active and trainee English teachers from all educational settings.
“Teachers are mentors, they are counselors, sometimes they are even the only ones who believe in the students,” noted Ambassador Duncan, who shared with the 200 Teachers Up beneficiary teachers. The two-day event included keynotes, concurrent sessions, exhibitions, panel discussions and networking events.
Thanks to Teachers Up, teachers develop skills to successfully improve the English language learning process for students.
