With the purpose of strengthening the Arms and Explosives Division (DAE by its acronym in Spanish) capabilities, the US Government, through the Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), delivered an equipment donation to the National Civilian Police (PNC by its acronym in Spanish) of El Salvador.
The donation includes a 4×4 pick-up, designed to transport a robot to hanlde explosives and a bomb transportation buoy (previously donated by the United States). Also 180 bulletproof vests and two containers for evidence preservation were handed over.
“With this donation we hope to contribute to security of policemen, and at the same time strengthen your institution,” said the Embassy’s Chargé D’Affaires Michael Barkin.
“The U.S. Embassy has always been there to help with the needs and requirements of the members of the PNC. In the name of the 28,000 members, I want to thank you for the effort you make in strengthening our institution,” said PNC’s General Director Howard Cotto.
