U.S. Government benefits San Marcos students with drinking water project
The United States Government, through the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), held a ceremony to deliver a water tank, valued at more than $7,000, to the Cantón Chaltepe School, located in the municipality of San Marcos. The initiative is part of the Overseas Humanitarian, Disaster and Civic Assistance Project (OHDACA) executed by the U.S. Civil Military Support Element (CMSE).
The construction of the tank was a coordinated effort between the Joint Staff Transmitter Support Command V and members of the educational community. Thanks to the project, the school will have access to drinking water, benefiting approximately 178 students.
Additionally, this humanitarian aid project has a security component, due to the presence of the MS-13 gang, ensuring greater safety for students.
