United States presents business opportunities to Salvadorans

U.S. Embassy El Salvador, through the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service office, organized the Connect USA Expo and Conference on May 4 in San Salvador. U.S. companies with an existing presence in El Salvador as well as US companies seeking distributors in El Salvador, participated in this networking conference.

U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador Jean Manes said: “In the last 12 months we have seen how trade relations between El Salvador and the United States continue to strengthen. And in the last four years, the assistance that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided to small and medium enterprises has generated more than 22 thousand new jobs.”

During the event, the Senior Commercial Specialist Lidia Sosa launched the U.S. Supplier Directory. The directory contains information about 21 U.S. companies from different industrial sectors that are looking for partners in El Salvador.

Connect USA also featured presentations on a variety of topics, including: Alternative energy solutions; how to improve client experiences with services; Commercial fairs in the U.S.; Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA); the three steps to avoid mishaps at customs; and, maintaining Cybersecurity.
