United States Donates Personal Protective Equipment to El Salvador’s Fire Department to Combat COVID-19

The United States government, as a key partner in El Salvador in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, donated $15,000 worth of bio-safety level 3 protective suits with shoe covers, surgical masks and NK95 masks. to the Salvadoran Fire Department. The donation, which was facilitated by U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), was presented by U.S. Ambassador Ronald Johnson.
The donation is part of the assistance offered by the diplomatic headquarters through SOUTHCOM’s Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP). The face shields will be distributed to all fire department personnel and will be very useful in combating COVID-19.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. Southern Command, through the Humanitarian Assistance Program, has been supporting the Government of El Salvador (GOES) by donating personal protective equipment, floor fans, hygiene kits to quarantine centers, etc.
The United States has been a strong ally and reliable partner of El Salvador for decades. For more than 50 years, the U.S. Southern Command has focused its efforts on developing ties and strengthening this partnership with El Salvador, which has included a wide variety of humanitarian projects. Now these efforts are focused on confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, a priority fight in the world.
