USG Donates Biohazard level 3 Medical Gowns and Industrial Fans to Fight Against the Spread of COVID-19 in Quarantine Centers

On May 20, the United States Government, through the Southern Command Humanitarian Assistance Program, delivered 174 industrial fans to be used in quarantine centers and 5,000 level 3 medical gowns to the Government of El Salvador. The donation was received by the Presidential Commissioner for Strategic Projects, Luis Rodriguez Sanz.
Since the start of the pandemic, the U.S. government, U.S. private companies and other organizations have collaborated by sharing their expertise and knowledge in the production of ventilators, face masks, and other personal protective equipment. With this $45,000 donation, in 2020 alone, the United States has already announced more than $74 million in aid to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, improve security and strengthen the economy.
The United States has been a strong ally and trusted partner of El Salvador for decades. For more than 50 years, the U.S. Southern Command has focused its efforts on developing ties and strengthening this alliance with El Salvador, which has included a wide variety of humanitarian projects. Now these efforts are focused on confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, a priority fight in the world. The United States government reaffirms its commitment to support its partners in times of crisis.
